In what way is Pesa environmentally sustainable?

The Pesa Hotel has been a certified Green Key tourism business since 2008, which indicates that we operate and manage our business in an environmentally responsible way.

  • We use water, heat and electricity sparingly
  • We have installed 43kW solar panels on the sunny side of the hotel building and on the roof
  • There are no mini-bars in the rooms to avoid excessive energy consumption
  • We sort waste and try to reduce its generation
  • We have also set up waste sorting facilities for our guests in the public areas of the hotel
  • We only do daily cleaning if there is a “Housekeeping welcome” sign on the room door
  • We avoid using chemicals that are harmful or hazardous to the environment
  • We use ecofriendly materials
  • We give preference to local fresh ingredients in the restaurant, and have gradually increased the use of organic produce
  • Our restaurant offers a menu based on local recipes
  • We use reusable food containers for takeaway from the restaurant
  • We take part in county events to contribute to the conservation of the natural environment
  • We have mapped the company’s carbon footprint and identified sources of greenhouse gas emissions, and based our new environmental ambitions on this data

We welcome your contribution to using natural resources more sustainably by:

  • using water sparingly when showering
  • turning off the lights and TV when you leave the room
  • using the same towel the next day
  • placing empty returnable bottles next to the waste bin in your room, paper and cardboard on the table, general waste in the waste bin, and packaging and biowaste in the waste sorting station at the end of the corridor on the first and second floors
  • handing over used batteries or other hazardous waste to reception staff
  • putting only as much food as you can eat on your plate at breakfast to avoid food waste

The natural environment is our collective asset that we can conserve and protect together!
